Renata de Oliveira Melo
Graduated in Metallurgical Engineering by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG – Brazil), Renata de Oliveira Melo currently conducts its PhD research work at the Centrale Lille Institute, France. The PhD project, in collaboration with CETIM, Volum-E and EDF, concerns the comprehension of the relation between microstructure and fracture properties in a 17-4 PH stainless steel elaborated by Powder Bed Fusion Laser Beam (PBF-LB). Her previous experiences in research and industry include microstructural evaluation of fragilization in 2205 duplex stainless steel by the formation of sigma phase and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welds in austenitic stainless steels in order to comprehend hot cracking phenomena.
