John H. L. Pang

John H. L. Pang is Professor at the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. He serves as Deputy Director at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy. He is a member of the ESG Manufacturing Standards Committee (MSC) and the Smart Manufacturing Technical Committee (SMTC). He has conducted industry training courses in Industry 4.0, Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI), 3D Printing, and Metal Additive Manufacturing Qualification Standards and Procedures. He received his PhD degree in 1989 from the University of Strathclyde and worked at The Welding Institute in the UK before joined Nanyang Technological Institute. His research interests are in Additive Manufacturing, Laser Metal Deposition, Metal Hybrid Manufacturing, Electronic Packaging and Manufacturing Technology. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES). He is serving in the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing and International Journal of Fatigue. He served as Associate Editor in the IEEE Transactions on Components and Packaging Technology & Advanced Packaging.
