61 Corrosion fatigue behaviour of two LPBF 316L stainless steels

Laser powder bed fusion 316L stainless steel exhibits superior resistance to pitting corrosion resistance and comparable fatigue strength to conventional 316L, though these properties are highly dependent on the process parameters. This study investigates the microstructural effects on the corrosion fatigue behaviour of the LPBF 316L. A fracture mechanical approach was used to separate the influence of defects and to study the effect of the microstructures and corrosion on the fatigue behaviour.
