Biography
Amal Toumi is a Ph.D. candidate at the National School of Engineers of Sousse (ENISo), Tunisia, under the supervision of Prof. Raouf Fathallah and co-supervision of Dr. Mounir Frija. My doctoral research focuses on the simulation and optimization of Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process parameters for medical implants, with a particular emphasis on Ti-6Al-4V alloys. My work combines numerical modeling, thermal–mechanical simulation, and topology optimization to improve the quality, performance, and lightweight design of additively manufactured biomedical components. In addition to myr research, I serve as a part-time lecturer, preparing and supervising practical MATLAB sessions applied to mechanics and numerical simulations. I had also been actively involved in community engagement through leadership roles in youth organizations, where I strengthened my teamwork and organizational skills. My research interests include metal additive manufacturing, process simulation, biomedical engineering, and design optimization. I aims to bridge the gap between computational modeling and experimental validation to advance the development of high-performance, patient-specific medical implants.
