Biography

My name is Ardizzone Pierre-Louis. I work at CEA SACLAY in the LA2M lab and will be a third year PhD student at the time of the AMS. I work on the integration of ODS in Ni based alloys using additive manufacturing.

25 Effect of nano-oxide incorporation method on microstructure and mechanical properties of additive manufactured ODS Ni-based alloys

The introduction of secondary phases like Y2O3 in Ni-based alloys can improve its strength at high temperature. Such secondary phases can be incorporated before the additive manufacturing step by different methods. Depending on the method used, the size and number of Y2O3 precipitates can differ, which has an effect on the mechanical properties and on the microstructure of the finished product. This work aims to test three methods of incorporation: acoustic mixing, 3D ball milling and calcination and compare them through the resulting powders, the microstructure of the additively manufactured parts – notably the nano-oxides distribution and size – and the mechanical behaviour at ambient and high temperature.
