Oliver Schollert

Biography

I am a Research Assistant at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, specifically the microAM research group. My work focuses on developing and integrating in-situ monitoring and characterization systems for laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF), with an emphasis on optical and thermal sensing to study melt pool dynamics and defect formation. In my master’s thesis, I investigated the corrosion behavior of LPBF-processed 316L stainless steel in molten fluoride salts to understand material performance in extreme environments. My research interests include metal additive manufacturing, materials characterization, and next-generation nuclear energy systems.
