Biography
Assistent professor at Centrale Lille, Jérémie BOUQUEREL has been working for over 20 years on the domain of metallic alloys. His field of expertise is focused on microscopy and mechanical characterization, especially on the assessment of deformation using several Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) techniques such as Electron Backscattered Diffraction (EBSD), Transmission Kikuchi Diffraction (TKD) and Electron Channeling Contras Imaging (ECCI).

24 Influence of heat treatment on the impact toughness of a powder bed fusion laser beam manufactured 17-4 PH stainless steel
This work investigated the effects of ageing heat treatments on the microstructure and the dynamic (impact toughness) mechanical behaviour of a 17-4 PH stainless steel produced by powder bed fusion laser beam. The microstructural evolution with heat treatments was assessed and indicated SiO2 inclusions as preferential nucleation sites for micro-cavities, revealing them to be detrimental to impact toughness. These findings underscore the need for further research into dynamic loading mechanical properties, especially for demanding applications such as those in the nuclear sector.
